HEALING OF INTRA-OSSEOUS PERIODONTAL LESIONS WHICH CONCEPTS FOR WHICH TREATMENT ?

Originally based on tissue concepts, studies concerning periodontal healing have evolved to include cellular involvement. Applied in the clinic, these new principles allow us to obtain, following treatment completion, a regeneration of the attachment system and the bone that was destroyed by periodontal disease. Surgical treatments have also evolved, enabling us to look toward the ultimate treatment goal, which is to regenerate periodontal tissues.
This article describes the concepts, and the results, of the healing process that is involved in the treatment of intra-bony lesions.
