Pronostic des retraitements endodontiques (orthogrades ou rétrogrades) versus implants

Résumé
Lorsqu’une dent présente un échec de traitement endodontique, plusieurs choix s’offrent aux praticiens : retraitement orthograde, chirurgie endodontique ou extraction et remplacement par un implant. Le pronostic est souvent envisagé comme critère décisionnel. Il est en réalité difficile de pouvoir comparer les chiffres issus de la littérature, car, ils ne correspondent pas à la même réalité. À l’heure actuelle, grâce aux progrès techniques, les retraitements orthogrades, la chirurgie endodontique et les implants constituent des thérapeutiques fiables et efficaces. Cependant, leurs indications, avantages et inconvénients sont différents.

Implication clinique
Le pronostic seul ne peut pas être un critère décisionnel décisif. Les études issues de la littérature ont permis de dégager un certain nombre d’éléments optimisant les thérapeutiques endodontiques et implantaires.
